In 2026, Hotel Fariones celebrates its 60th anniversary. Six decades of history shared with Lanzarote, generations of travellers who have found their place here, and the people whose dedication has made this hotel much more than a holiday destination.
To mark such a special milestone, on 18 September the gardens of Hotel Fariones hosted an evening filled with memories, reunions and emotion. A moment to look back, remember our beginnings and pay tribute to everyone who has been part of this story.
60 years alongside Lanzarote
On 12 October 1966, Hotel Fariones opened its doors in Puerto del Carmen, becoming the first hotel built in Lanzarote and marking the beginning of a new chapter for tourism on the island.
Since then, the hotel has witnessed Lanzarote’s transformation, evolving over the years while remaining true to its essence and to the close connection with the place where its story began.
Today, six decades later, its gardens overlooking the Atlantic continue to witness new stories. Those of guests discovering the island for the first time, and those who return year after year to a place they already feel is their own.

A celebration of who we are
The gardens of Hotel Fariones welcomed nearly 250 guests to celebrate six decades of shared history.
The evening paid tribute to the generations of employees who have been part of the hotel’s story, with especially moving moments including a speech by Mirita Reyes, who worked as Head Housekeeper for 38 years.
An evening to celebrate a legacy built on people, memories and lasting connections.
